Don't listen to the first guy who answered....pfft. You can apply at anytime, but you might not get your payments in time for the start of September. Are you in the UK? If you are, then you need to go to Student Finance at the Direct Gov website, just google it. You'll need to register an account, then just enter all your information. The questions are pretty simple, but you'll need your parents or guardians present so they can help fill in their details. It's all pretty simple, but i'd get cracking if you want the money in time for the start of the uni year. Good luck :)Dave Said:

I assume you mean Tax Year 09./10 ??? (which ended 6th April 2010 ??)If your Mum was getting state benefits 'last year', by now they should have sent her a P60 for Tax Year 09/10 .... if not, she needs to contact the appropriate office (eg JSA = Job Center) and ask them ...
