What I'm going to be rejected by 3 uni's?

We Answered:

You are obviously not getting very good advice from your school which is a pity. Here are some thoughts:

You should have turned down the U award at AS, this would have allowed you not to show it on your UCAS form. I don't think you can do this now as you have accepted it.

Good for you doing some AS module retakes. It is very unusual to get A in A2 after B in AS so I expect the unis will not make an offer that requires you to have an A at A2. However, nothing to stop you taking a gap year and reapplying to Sheffield if you do, in fact, get an A.

If you do not get any conditional offers or do not meet the conditions, you can apply through clearing.

Rodney Said:

Where can my child go for a full dyspraxia assessment?

We Answered:

I am assuming you are talking about Sheffield, England so my response may not be accurate.

I am in the US so I can only answer based on how things work here.

In the US we call it "apraxia", and it is Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) who can assess and treat apraxia. Typically, SLPs who specialize in apraxia can be found on the staff of any hospital, and many operate private clinics as well. Your health insurance may cover an assessment if performed in a hospital.

In addition, school districts either have SLPs on staff, or they contract out to an agency to provide those services to school aged students. If your son is still in high school, he would be eligible for a assessment that would be provided upon request, by your school district's Child Study Team.

Good Luck!
