Apartments For College Students

Roberta Said:

Does anyone know of any affordable apartments for college students in the Takoma park, Maryland area?

We Answered:

Takoma Park caters to students. There are lots of apartments and rooms for rent, some of which are in converted Victorian and Edwardian homes. They are charming and unique. Check the Washington POST online ads or the Gazette newspapers online ads.

Ron Said:

When is the best time to try and rent an apartment to college students?

We Answered:

The best time to rent to College students would be July and August (just before the school year starts.)

That way, you're getting new students, and also if a student had a lease for the previous year, and wants to move, they'll be looking just before they need to decide whether or not to renew the lease.

I live in Boston (where there are many colleges), and see many rental property coming on the market around July and August for September.

I hope that helps.

College students who look for apartments on Craigslist?

We Answered:

1. Spam/ scam- Some places are too good to be true and you are so blindsided by it (cause we're young), we don't even notice until we go bragging to mom and dad and they're like ummm? 1000 dollars for a 4bedroom in the nicest part of town, huh? And then you feel like an idiot! LOL, o well...I've become a lot smarter when looking for places.

2. They don't give the address so you can't pass by it.

3. THe only show the outside of the freaking place in the pictures

4. They don't have pictures

5. I know a lot of people won't agree, but I don't like when they don't give the option to email. I'd rather email as the 1st form of communication. I don't know why.. suppose it's more convenient for me when I'm trying to talk to many places at once.

Don't even get me started on the GIGS section...

MURRAY KENTUCKY APARTMENTS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS?

We Answered:

You are going to have to stay in a dorm or find a house that is for lease. As far as I can see, there are no apartments in Murray Kentucky. I have no idea what college could possibly there either.

Janice Said:

Does anyone know an area in Tampa with apartments for newly weds and not college students?

We Answered:

Check out the Brandon area. It's just east of Tampa and pretty nice. College kids are probably taking over because the rental market has come way down with the housing implosion. I'd look for something new and nice....the rents will be a little higher but it's still a lot cheaper than 2-3 years ago and ya won't have the kids to deal with. You'll be amazed what you can get for your $ these days with the economy going to hell in a handbasket.

Christopher Said:

what apartments in boston are good for college students?

We Answered:

The whole area around there has plenty of rental housing, but the big apartment buildings like Trilogy are out of your price range. Most college students get their apartments through Craigslist, the housing department of their schools, and brokers (which charge a month's rent as a fee). Look for Kenmore, Fenway, Symphony, Northeastern, in the ads. Now is a good time to start, most of the student rentals are locked up by May when the college kids go home for the summer.

Be careful of any address west of Mass Ave and South of Columbus, you want to avoid Roxbury.
