Erika Said:For current/past students: what are the residence halls like at Barrett, the Honors College at ASU?
We Answered:They are amazing!! I live there now. Although I live in Cottonwood, not the ones you mentioned. However, I do know that Sage South is part of the "Sustainability House". Meaning no hallways to save on air conditioning which isn't that awesome if you ask me.
I've seen the Cereus Hall, and to be honest it's larger than Cottonwood but still has the same layout. There are two entrances on either side of the building, and houses a variety of majors as well as upper/lowerclassmen.
All in all, you can't go wrong with Barrett. They have that giant courtyard, their own dining hall (be aware that the freshman 15 turns into the Barrett 25 here) with great food, Java City, a computer lounge, really everything you could ever want.
If it helps, though, Agave is the western most hall, while Sage South is lightly more eastern, and then it's Cereus. Agave has the advantage of having a view of Hassaympa or the SRC (a little bit), while Sage South and Cereus MIGHT (obv. depending on where your room is) either have a view of the courtyard inside Barrett of Apache, the street out front. (also meaning that if you get a room on the lower level you need to worry about traffic, and it is LOUD. Also a bar is right across the street called the Vine, that gets loud too at about 2am)
Hope this helps!
Leonard Said:Colleges to apply to the specialize in Computer science?
We Answered:DeVry, MIT
Ronnie Said:Romantic date in Tempe?
We Answered:Yes - House of Tricks when you can manage another day to go there ~ prices are reasonable for the quality of food served.
I haven't been to Tempe since May '07 and just discovered (on Zagat) that a Trader Vic's opened in Scottsdale two years ago. This brought back memories of many fun times, and good food, at their NYC restaurant in The Plaza Hotel in the1960's. Really - most restaurants can be romantic - depends upon the person you're with, time of day and table location. When (or if, once you see the prices!) you make your reservation, ask for a corner table away from the kitchen entry and exit doors, or book for outdoor dining an hour before sunset. Their drinks are beautifully presented and the food should be very good. The Hearts of Iceberg salad was on the old menu, without the bacon, and cost $1.50 "back then". I didn't realize how many of their drinks I've had until seeing the drink menu (but never more than one per evening!): the Pino Frio is good as is the Raffles Sling but the gardenia in the Passion Punch makes this a winner.
Looking at the menu has made me hungry so, please, reserve a table for three and I'll see you Sunday at 6:45pm. I look forward to having a Mai Tai, Almond Duck Tidbits and Crusted Ahi but, with the Ahi, wish to have the sides and ponzu which are served with the Ginger Crusted Halibut. Thank you!.
It's early a.m. and I'm a night-owl which is why I'm ranting ... hope you have a superb evening wherever you decide to go.
Salvador Said:What is the best reality for ASU students renting a house in Tempe?
We Answered:Before renting I would defiantly meet the landed, go Thur the house with him, note anything that is broke or in need of repair. See he how he responds to your inquiry requesting any repairs. if he is a good landlord, he will fix things, defiantly read all the fine print in the lease, and defiantly get renters insurance.
Jimmy Said:What College should I go to?
We Answered:Apply to both and repost your question if both accept you and you can find a way to pay for USC. Admission to USC will probably be much more difficult than to ASU.
Maria Said:College Housing: Dorms?
That literally took me 4 seconds to Google. Seriously, put some effort into it.
Eleanor Said:Homestay in Phoenix area?
We Answered:Yes a house in Chandler is to far unless you plan on going and picking them up or dropping them over every day because most of the time they don't drive.
