Well.. generally, only Freshman get on-campus housing now. I don't know about transfer students though. But, campus food isn't all that bad (or at least I don't think so, a lot of people complain, but I've been in a lot worse living situations and meals in other countries, so I'm just happy to get what I have) I happen to think that some of it is really pretty good.

Being on campus is really nice though because of the convenience of walking down to class, and then right back to your room when you get out. But, you can even find some off-campus housing that's really close. (Mustang Village is the closest, and there's also Stenner Glen).

1. Yes! It is in the lease and you signed it so it is legally binding. It does not matter if it is unfair, they can hold you to it. Any verbal agreement will not stand up in court. A law or clause in a lease does NOT become invalid just because it is not fair. There are TONS of unfair laws on the books that are fully enforceable.

2. It does sound like they did not understand their own rule or flat out lied. Either way there is not much you can do about it now.

The only thing you can do about this is live out your lease, give proper notice, and wait to see what they charge. You always have the right to take them to court over any charges from your deposit, but you must wait until after you move out and they actually take those charges.

Also, with that clause in there I do not understand why they would ever sign a less than 24 mo lease.

It is a nice campus. However, it is much more of a commuter campus. There isnt alot of students living on or near campus. It is about 20-30 minutes away from the beach. If your looking at state schools near beach and alot of students on campus San Diego State is the best. Long Beach State is another near Orange County that I would investigate as well.

Yes, you can apply. The only reason you would not get housing is if there is no more housing available.

I went to CSUN in 1997.... It is a great school.. You will be able to find housing.. and work on Campus.......
CSUN's M.A program in sociology will take one year to complete. It is only an additional 30 units.

The atmosphere is relaxed, calm, and cool....

I am in the process right now of attending CSUN for another Masters.
