Virtually all schools have endowment programs and scholarships. One that you didn't mention was U PA, which arguably has a better business school than Harvard's. No school is going to give you a free ride. But, if you show enough promise academically, if you add to the diversity of the student body, if you appear to be a good bet in terms of future contributions to the school either through financial support or academic recognition, the school will often try to make the educational opportunity affordable.

Because the demand for housing for couples exceeds the supply, students who are still in their first year of housing are not eligible to apply to transfer into couples’ housing. The first opportunity to apply to transfer into couple’s housing will be during the second year of housing through the Transfer Lottery. Please plan accordingly. Documentation of couple and/or family status will be required.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate most requests for studios from single students."

edit: The only alternative, assuming that you will not budge and live apart, is to accept off campus housing for the first year. Bear in mind, however, that this is New York City. Rent is insane.

Tuition, by definition, is just the cost of your classes.

It is possible that Columbia doesn't have housing for graduate students. Or, like all graduate schools, doesn't require students to live on campus so they don't tell you the cost of housing as it can vary greatly. You're better off looking at the costs of nearby apartments.

I have looked at these programs and talked to my college councilor about them and he said that all these programs show colleges is that your daddy can pay half a year's tuition so you can go off and play college for a month over the summer. It looks a lot better to just stay home over the summer and get an internship and/or job and/or volunteer a lot.

It gives you reviews from students, and I'm sure something about Greek Life's on there.

I think sometimes a big name is only a big name... so be wary. Columbia U is highly reputable, but sometimes it's not worth it. Make sure it's the right school for you.
