You're right, Canadian universities don't look at the SAT scores, that's just for American schools. Typically, a Canadian school will look at your TOEFL and your grades, which seem to be good. They don't generally look at extracurriculars either. I think your chances are probably quite good.

I am sure you have a chance of all of the colleges, colleges like to see someone who has improved, like me for example, my first two years were egh...and my junior year was good and my senior year is great. I'm also a freshman college student from Suffolk University in Boston. Although I dont have situation I can understand how you would feel that way. Before I got into the school I wanted- and rejected by some others- I was planning how I would very soon transfer out. I'd say give it time, the fact that you live alone sucks but, because of this there is no excuse why you shouldnt get some solitude and study. Give the university a chance for the rest of the semester but, if you still hate it make sure you do wel in school for this semester or even the rest of freshman year and transfer outa there!

Sounds like you are on the right track so far, keep your grades up in high school and keep doing extracurriculars and you will get into a good school. A lot of it will depend on your SAT/ACT scores as well, but as long as you have good grades and your teachers can write you good recommendations you should be fine.
