Accommodation Services at Cardiff:
The Accommodation Service provides a comprehensive service: allocating places in halls of residence or helping students to find privately rented accommodation off campus near to their place of study.
Halls of Residence
Self-Catered En suite Accommodation
In addition to UWIC owned halls of residence, the UWIC Accommodation Service has a contract with a private developer ‘The UNITE group’ offering students luxury ‘halls like’ accommodation in Cardiff - Evelian Court.
These halls are situated just under a mile from the Llandaff Campus and just two miles from the city centre. All allocations are made via the UWIC accommodation office and sole occupancy is for UWIC students.
There are a limited number of double rooms and self contained studios.

Charlotte Said:Student worried about rental aggrement with landlord?
We Answered:Post dated cheques are illegal. I understand your landlord, perhaps he has been let down before, but that's a risk he has to take. The contract you sign should be very clear as to how much you pay and when. It is normal to pay a deposit to cover an future damage, and a months rent in advance. On the day you move in make a list of any defects to ensure this isn't deducted from the deposit. Good luck with your house and your exam results.
Ruben Said:Student Accomodation Tips?
We Answered:Hi - I used to work for Cardiff Uni and the student officer will have contact details of landlords that they recommend - the best way would be to speak to current students - I used to live in Cathays and we moved when the student population grew and basically the majority of Cathays is student dwellings. You will receive a certificate for any gas fires and also the uni can give you a certificate for council tax so don't forget to ask admissions about that...........most of the houses for students are delat with through agencies so legally everything should already be in place
Good luck with uni and finding somewhere to live - there is definitely not a shortage of accommodation to rent privately so you should have a good choice on offer
