Usually involves one individual assuring the lease. Most landlords will require disclosure of all those that will occupy the property. That leasee will then be soley responsible. The only protection would be the allowance of subleasing creating accountability by the other occupants. Would not over ride the original lease. Finding landlords that allow subleasing would be difficult.

a landlord may not descriminate based upon age. but they can descriminate against college students as long as it is not age related.

it is hard to prove. they may be just making a decisiion to not rent to you because they are uncertain as to your ability to pay the rent on time.

Always pay off existing debt before going more into debt.

Pay off the debt, save for a house and you'll be happier.

Extra debt always puts a strain on a marriage. Don't go deeper into debt.
