Yes u can put everything in storage , worse case scenerio she'll get a judgement later for any possessions she wants.. I suggest that as soon as u get to california that you get a lawyer, and you get all ur papers drawn up legally.. the divorce, visitation , custody issues, child support issues , etc.. once its in writing she has to allow u to see ur child based on the visitation guidelines and if she doesnt u can hold her in contempt of court.. nothing will be solved until u got to court..

First of all CONGRATULATIONS, you seem like a very smart girl to have gotten those scholarships.
I see that you are in a tough spot, but honestly i would write down all of your pros and cons for each.. including things about the state. For example, do you want it to always be cold or would you like somewhere where you can enjoy the HOT sunny sun once in a while. I know you are going to be concentrating on your studies, but you also have to remember that you will be there for at least 1 year because then you are transfering..Am i right? Therefore you do have to feel comfortable. 1 year sometimes does go by fast, but sometimes if your in college, it can seem everlasting.
I would go with either University of Portland because you did like it and Honestly.. MOST jobs lets say about 85% DO NOT look at what school you went to. They look at wether or not you got the degree and if you are capable for the job or not so that shoud be the last of you worries. About the whole family thing in Utah, remember that you are going to be in a University now.. you are a grown women capable of making your own decisions, so your family needs to understand that and let you be. besides you will be spending most of your time studying that you wont have time to be paying attention to what they have to say or what they are doing.
Bryn Mawr is not really one of my favorites... why? well its just im not really wow about the whole NOT Co-Ed institutons. I think that Co-Ed institutions are great, not only because you get to meet new people, but you get to socialize with the opposite sex more. I dont mean it in a bad way, i'm just saying you learn and experience life like it really is out in the world.

You are allowed to use your student loans to pay for housing. Your college should have a housing department, people who cna help you obtain funding.

I don't know about the others, but i wouldn't recommend Bryn Mawr unless you really like tradition and don't mind being in a very tiny town with not much to do. I have a friend there and she says that the people there are weird and she wouldn't pick it again if she had to. Good luck!!
