Explanation, The data pipe is 10 Mb/sec, split 4 ways (assuming all are doing the same things) is now 2.5Mb/sec each. Wireless drops this number even lower. The time of day will also have a bearing on the bandwidth provided by the 10 Mb/sec pipe. The more users on line in your area the lesser that 10 Mb/sec becomes.

Try resetting your network to get the best throughput possible.
Turn off all computers, turn off the router and modem. Wait 5 minutes. Turn on the modem, wait one minute, router, wait one minute, and then computers.

Beyond the above give your ISP tech support folks a call. They can check out your connection.

A fixed term rental agreement is also known as a lease. Fixed in this case means unchangable. So in essance your son signed a 1 year contract, all contracts have "outs" built into them. From expericance the contract will be in favor of the rental agency that holds the lease. Read your lease agreement carefully to see if there is a reason given in the lease for you to break it (fyi i doubt your going to find one). Comon reasons to break leases would be stuff like: no heat, water, electricity, vermin ect ect. If your son does break the lease (dependign on the state) the rental agency must activly seek another renter to abrogate thier loss of rental income.

this is what will happen when you do break lease

1. you will be sued for the remander of the rent that is owed on the lease.
2. you will have to go to court to defend yourself (show that the rental agency did nothing to abrogate the loss)
3. you will sacrifice the deposit (damage/first/last months rent ect.)
4. you will lose in court and end up paying the full amount.

1-4 are all going to happen UNLESS you have a reason to break the lease. (note ** even being dead is not cause to break a lease)

Lock up the liquor and you should be good. Most exchange students are responsible and trustworthy anyhow that's why they are chosen for the programs, they are good students.

I really think just putting it away for the stay will be fine, in a locked cabinet or have a friend keep just the liquor for you until they are gone, the students I mean. They don't expect you not to have life :0) I'm sure its not a big deal as long as its not easily available for the students just in case.

Its almost a necessity as bad as the economy is. I've got a three bedroom house (in California) and I have to have the two roomies to pay the rent.

Not everyone does it. But it's pretty popular.
