you could probably work at a day care and maybe teach them, or see if a school office could use some part time employees, I'm sure what else is education related besides tutoring.

I'm sure she'll find a job, even though many jobs require much more than a high school diploma.
If 15-17 year olds who haven't even graduated yet can get jobs, so can she. This could include working at clothing stores or food places. I'm in high school and when my friends and I go job-hunting, we just go to the mall and stop in practically every store and food place to ask for a job application.
Hopefully, she gets her GED, though so she can improve her life. You seem like a great teacher for going through all this trouble. Good luck to her and to you!

A vet would most likely not hire such a short term employee. However, if you are just looking for some quick cash, many retail stores are very short up on cashiers during the holidays. They not only need people for the Christmas rush, but also for the return period after Christmas. And January through about May is the slowest times for retail, so letting you go wouldn't be such a hard task for them. Try your local retail stores--Wal-Mart, Target, etc.

If you really just want to work with animals and don't care about money, you could also volunteer at your local animal shelter, which is what I plan to do!
