Well done for getting the job! I guess it could be quite varied, but I imagine that at least some of it requires specialist knowledge about products so they probably wouldn't put you on the shop floor right away. maybe in the stockroom to begin with, and maybe give you the boring jobs like sweeping up and cleaning the shelves etc. But don't let it put you off - even the manager had to start somewhere! it's all good experience, and you'll have a bit of dosh for Christmas to look forward to!
Even if you hate it, it's only for 6 weeks and ' this too will pass.'
On the other hand, you might love it, they might love you, and you might end up with a weekend job out of it.
You'll be fine, enjoy it!

normally its minimum wage or a little bit above depending on what type of position you are holding. Every company has different standards for their pt hours but normally it is 32 hours or under, unless you work for a large company like walmart or target, then you could possibly see about 40 hrs the last couple of weeks before christmas, and the possibility of getting kept on permanent if you work hard enough. If you have a Toys R Us or any other form of a Toy store or seasonal store or anything like that, I HIGHLY recommend it. I worked there last year when I was 17 and it was the best job I've ever had(I've had a lot). They were usually pretty flexible on their hours, and I got a lot because they were so busy. Working in a toy store is just plain fun. You're surrounded by things that make you happy and everyone in there is in a good mood. Try it out
