It's very late to be searching for a summer internship, especially a paid one since those are typically very competitive and get snatched up first. That being said, it is not impossible to still find a worthwhile opportunity and it sounds like you have a great resume including the City Hall experience. Even your Best Buy experience demonstrates an ability to work and interact with people which is key in diplomacy. I'm not so sure about what's available in California, but you're search will be a lot easier in DC as there are hundreds of internships there. Search idealist .org. They have a great database for government/political/non-profit jobs and internships. I'll also list a link to an article that lists some other resources that you may find helpful. Good Luck

You first will go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply for financial aid. This is where you could be eligible to get the academic grant and/or financial aid. Most likely, when applying for financial aid it is granted upon need. There is a maximum amount allowed. After paying your tuition with that money and books, what ever else is left is for you to manage throughout your semester. Depending on how much that may be..you might want to sign up for workstudy. So you can work on campus to pay for your apartment. You should also consider a roommate so you can split the cost. Good LUCK!

Nothing. His solution is to give corporations tax breaks so that they will expand and hopefully hire new people. So take Starbucks, under McCain's plan, he'll give them a tax cut so they can hire you and you can work there until you finish off paying school by yourself. So basically his plan is "You're On Your Own". Sounds great doesn't it?

I don't think they do expect that. Most people have had a job and still do have a job by college so applying for credit is not a problem.

It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, but that's the way they wrote the rule. The initial plan as it went to Congress appeared to include anyone who qualified on the basis of income, but that's not how the bill finally emerged.

But don't despair. While you will be ineligible for a rebate if you are claimed as a dependent, you may still benefit under the plan.

While the rebate depends on your 2007 status and income, it is actually a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, taxes would be cut in 2008 from 10 percent to zero percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

So if you have taxable income in 2008, you will see a tax cut when you file in 2009.
