Alfred Said:

Anyone know any part time student jobs in Cheltenham at the moment?

We Answered:

Bar work is superb, very fun and a relaxed environment. I worked in a nightclub in Cheltenham once upon a time. Just phone around you'll find somewhere. I just phoned all of them up and asked them if they needed someone. I think I did 20-25 hours on average.

Curtis Said:

Do student skiing jobs cover all the costs of skiing/travel/living while you are there?

We Answered:

Most US resorts that hire overseas help will give you room & board, a free season pass, free or very discounted rental skis/snowboard if need be, and a wage. The big drawback is that a bunch of places will deduct your R&B from your wage and so you end up taking home less than minimum wage. Each state has their own laws on how R&B can or must be deducted.

A few places will pay for your plane ticket as well, but I'm finding that's less and less the norm as I speak to the imported help at the various resorts in the Northeast.

If you have fluent English (in the US and Canada) and can ski well enough to teach, there is a better chance you can get hired as an instructor and be eligible for tips. Those jobs usually pay more than a lift attendant or cafeteria worker.
