You have to be able to prove that you have a legal right to work in this country - part of that is having an NI No. Since you are only 17 & have lived in the UK for 8 years, you should have been sent a NI No. when you were 16.You may need to apply for one. Refer to the direct.gov.uk website, but you need to ring Jobcentre Plus Telephone 0845 600 0643 (8.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday).

When I was your age and in the same situation I put a C.V together and went around my local shopping area asking if they had any vacancies for Saturday and Sunday work. I did feel a little embarrassed doing it so i took a friend along for moral support (she waited outside each shop). I managed to bag myself a job in the local Pie & Mash shop. It gave me my own money and enabled me to carry on with my education. I made new friends too which was a bonus.
If you are looking for Administration and Clerical work that can be a little harder as they usually want people for set hours.
Good luck and remember it's a stepping stone onto bigger & better things.

You can earn 5-7 pounds per hour maximum.As per UK rules you need to work only 20 hours per week.But i think practically peoples are working more than this time.You can get jobs in department stores,petrol bunks,Bakes etc.You will paid 11/2 salary (per hour) from your normal pay for working on saturdays and double for working on sundays and night shifts.

But its difficult to assure you to receive this pay on this economic recession.Don't over imagine on your part time payments for your bank payments.Remember you need to spend maximum part of your earnings for your daily needs also.Foreign education is a craze on some point of age.If you have enough money on hand,you can go without any hesitation.Or else its better to continue your master's on our home in good institutes.

Well your 14 and not alot of people would hire you because of child labor laws so why dont you babysit or mow your neighbors lawns or make a lemonade stand its getting warm and you could take advantage of it.

I don't know if you're of voting age but your vote can make a difference if you can persuade other people to vote against them.

The other choice is a civil war. The UK government seems to ignore the plight of the major population.

You do have another option: Emigrate to a country that actually gives a damn.
