Part Time Job For High School Student

Cory Said:

Part time job for high school student in brooklyn?

We Answered:

Cleaning, kitchen work, packing, running errands, gardening, babysitting, newspaper delivery are some of the jobs available. These jobs will be posted in local newspapers and billboards. A better option is to work from home on your computer - write articles, sell on eBay, make a website, take surveys. In some cases, you may have to set up an account in your parents or guardians name, and ask them to pay you, after they get the money for your work. More details are available at http://kj9.info

Marshall Said:

What should I include for applying a part-time job as a high school student?

We Answered:

You need to include a resume, a cover letter, and you might be asked to fill out an application form.

If you do not know how to write a cover letter, then search for "sample cover letters" on google and just follow their format and what they say in them. That is how I did mine and I found excellent ones that I just edited to fit my description.

I'm working at my community hospital. Not only does it give you service hours, but it pays well and you can adjust your schedule. Also, it looks good in college application. I would recomment working at your local clinic or hospital. Great experience and respectable occupation

How do I find a part-time job as a high school student?

We Answered:

wow, that's great you are so open to many jobs - you get a lot pickier as you get older. When I was your age, i had many jobs! Here's where I worked during high school and college:

Grocery Store Cashier
Retail (Gap, Claires Boutique)
Tanning Salon
Pizza Place
Video Store
Assembly line in a factory

I really loved the tanning salon - casual dress and you got to tan for free! ( of course it depends on how you feel about tanning) It usually pays between $6-7 per hour.

Any retail store is a good place to start . They're always hiring and you get discounts on clothes. Pick your fave clothing /jewelry store and apply. Retail usually pays between $7-9 per hour.

To apply, just walk into the store and ask if they are hiring and if you could have an application. If you can, fill it out there and ask for the manager to give it to. That way, they will put a face to the name and might give you a mini interview :)

Good luck!
