did you give notice in writing to yr landlord/estate agent that you are moving out due to reasons mentioned here?

If you did then you may be safe to refuse anymore rent payments.

when the repairs were not carried out you should have called in the health and safety dept at yr local council and they would deal with the agents.

Now go to yr local citizen advice and ask fr yr best way to deal with this problem of rent demand ..
