What job for a 19 year old student in Surrey over summer holidays? We Answered:
Hey Eggsville,Be careful with surveys...you probably won't get paid until they send the check out 3 months after you do the survey. You should probably go get a typical job at a retail store to start out. At that point, if you would like to earn money in your free time, then you could experiment with other ways of making money. Good luck to you!

Need a Job in Surrey BC!!!?We Answered:
Oooh that's a tough position to land. I so regret having gone to school for that as now I'm doing something completely different.Check around in the Surrey Leader, Craigslist, as well as the resources at Whalley Employment Centre. Most of the jobs are hidden (not advertised) so networking can be a great tool in finding a position. Make sure to check out the shopping mall websites for positions within.
There definitely is work in that field; however, finding it can be hard. I'm sure you'll find something that suits you in the near future.

I want to move out of the country maybe 2-3 years after I graduate from highschool? We Answered:
For film school, you pretty much have to go to UCLA, and you've made it quite clear that mom cannot afford to send you abroad to school. To obtain a student visa, you must prove you have sufficient funds for all school expenses, plus all living expenses, plus return transportation to your own country. Unless you & mom come up with the Big Bucks, you are not studying abroad.Alternative: check out Toronto. Some Canadian film & TV industry there. Perhaps U Toronto or York U have film studies? Investigate. Still pretty expensive, but a whale of a lot cheaper than in the US.

Is it true that Aerosp.Eng.students are now jobless in US?We Answered:
WASHINGTON (6 April 2009).....The unemployment rate for all engineers jumped from 2.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008 to 3.9 percent in the first quarter of 2009. For all computer occupations, the rate went from 3.3 percent to 5.4 percent. In comparison, the quarter-to-quarter rate for all professional workers increased from 3 percent to 3.7 percent. For electrical and electronics engineers the jobless rate rose from 2.4 percent to 4.1 percent, quarter to quarter. For mechanical engineers, it went from 2.1 percent to 4.2 percent.***** Aerospace engineers suffered less, with an increase from 1.1 percent to 1.4 percent****

I am not sure what the jobless rate is currently for aero enggs, but 1.4% in April is very very low.
You also need to take into consideration that you will be working as an aero engineer for probably around 30+ years and even longer if you want ( experience pays in engineering, age provides invaluable experience), and a few months of being unemployed (usually immediately after graduation due to lack of experience) is just a blip in your whole career.
The business cycle goes up and down. That is not new. You cannot and should not plan a career spanning 30+ years on the basis of a few slow years in the business cycle, which might not even affect you when you graduate and may not affect you ever. I know of engineers who have never been unemployed and are still practicing at 80 years of age and being paid a lot of money for their unique experience.
There are no valid reasons for being pessimistic about your career in engineering.
I am in the final two years of my civil eng degree and have no doubt about it being an excellent long-term career.
Hope this helps.

Work Experience help?We Answered:
I think they do. You could try coming up with a good letter asking for work experience and sending it off to businesses. The worst thing they can do is just not respond. Another good place to look is charities. They never have enough staff in their offices so will often take on volunteers. This is a good way to get some nice generic office type experience that could come in useful.
