Try working at a higher paying summer time job. There are loads of jobs open right now for lawn care. Lawn care works longer hours, and a better pay rate and I am confident that if you can land one you will get the cash you need. The only down fall is that legally they cannot work you the long hours, so some of the pay will have to be under the table, or you might not be able to find one that will hire you because of you age.
You could look into mowing lawns on the side in addition to the job you already have. I let my neighbors grandson take care of my lawn and I pay him $20 every day that he works, I have a fairly small lawn (.75 acre) and it only takes an hour to get everything done, it includes mowing, trimming bushes if needed, and weeding.

It depends on how much time you have to spare as to whether you fly, train, bus or hitch. You also need to look at the cost and plan your budget accordingly.

If you are looking for an exact dollar amount you aren't going to find it... That is why your internet search is coming up empty. There are over a 100 questions on the fafsa and if it were that easy, there would only be ONE question.

As a dependent college freshman, you can borrow up to 5,500 in Federal Stafford loans (if you don't get any other forms of aid like grants or scholarships)... find a school that is less than this, and you'll be fine.

ANY student can get "up to" the cost of attendance of their school minus their EFC. You won't know what your EFC is until you fill out the fafsa or do a sort of pre-fafsa at http://www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov/F4CApp/in…

Just be aware that your aid will prob include loans and even parent PLUS loans.

um, it depends on how much you want to work but you will probably have to do quite a few hours to earn that much money. the minimum wage is pathetic for underage people. the economy isnt great for job hunters, if you've never had a job before probably the only place you're going to get a job is fast food. apply pretty much everywhere you can find, but remember, beggars can't be choosers. don't get too picky.
