It will eventually show up on your credit report, as soon as it is sold to a collection agency, which is inevitable.

Canadian law changed in 2002, and student loans are now permanent - they never drop off the credit report even after the old 7 year statute period. They also survive bankruptcy.

If you call 1-800-387-5604 and give your SIN they can tell you if you have any outstanding provincial debts.
