Janice Said:Is there a federal grant that will pay off student loans for a teacher?
We Answered:Actually, sort of. It's not that there are grants that will pay off your loans, rather there is a new government grant that will actually pay part of your tuition while you are actively in school.
Known as the TEACH (Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education) Grant, the program will pay up to $4000 a year to education majors who intend to teach in schools that provide education to students from low income families. As an applicant to this program, you'll be required to sign a contract that commits you to teach in such a school - if you don't satisfy the agreement after graduation, you'll be obligated to pay back all of the grant funds with interest.
You apply for the grant through the FAFSA application, but your school's financial aid office can give you all of the information that you need. Here's a direct link to the Department of Education website that describes the program - http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/s… - you'll find a lot of info here, as well.
I hope this helped - good luck in your training and your future teaching career!
Herman Said:Are there any military grants to pay off student loans.?
We Answered:Check out this website:
It is about financial aid loan forgiveness. One category that seems to be able to get loan forgiveness are those people who perform military service. The website should explain everything.
Ricardo Said:Are there grants to help military families pay off existing student loans?
We Answered:scholarships.onlinewebshop.net - it provides some tips about applying to US federal and state grants for college students.
Wayne Said:how to get a government grant to pay off student loans?
We Answered:Well it is pretty hard to obtain government grant information without paying. I found that you pay for what you get and pie doesn't fall out of the sky. But yea if you want go to your local library and look for books and other stuff they are bound to be there.
If you're lazy like me I just forked over the money and got my CDs and books. Here is a site you can use
Eugene Said:Looking for grants to help pay off student loans so that I may return to school to get my degree, help?
We Answered:Go to your local library...I can't think of the name of the book but I'm sure they will know what your talking about. They have a book that is full of different grants offered to people for various reasons. It's unbelievable the organizations out there that are willing to help if you just look.
Marion Said:Are there any grants for people to help pay off student loans?
We Answered:There are no federal or state grants to pay off your loans. There are also no federal or state grants for people based on their race or ethnicity. Grants from the gov are given on the basis of financial need. They are prob getting scholarhships based on these things, not grants. and you can only get scholarships or grants if you are an actual STUDENT... not if you are a graduate or a drop out.
Sorry... if you would have qualified for them when you were a college student then you would have gotten them then... You would be better to just get a second or a third job to help pay off those loans.
Theresa Said:i need a grant to pay off student loans. does anyone know names of grants i can apply for and how to write up
We Answered:Most of us just have to pay off our student loans by working and sending checks. If you find an institution that wants to pay your loan for you, let me know. I have about two more years left on mine. Love you, Sammy
