Need student loan, have bad credit. Where should I look?

Chase Eduction One. I have to have a co-signer because I dont have a job. Your cosigner MUST have a job and been there for at least 2 years. They have to have a Pay Stub at least 60 days old (or your most recent). They are an excellent Private Loan Program.

This is my second year with them and couldnt be more happier!

The money gets sent directly TO YOU NOT YOUR SCHOOL. They dont need your schools permission like National City loans do (experience). If you donot have a bank account or debit card try not to get nothing bigger than $11,000 because its hard to cash. But there is NO LIMIT TO HOW MANY LOANS YOU COULD TAKE OUT THROUGH THE YEAR. JUST AS LONG AS ITS WITHIN YOUR YEARLY LIMIT (how much your school year attendance is. you could find that out by calling Chase 1(888) 289-3133 and asking them how much could I get a year from school? They will ask for your school name and they will tell you your borrowing limit for a year worth of loans. That amount applies for every year you take out. Mine is $23,899.

Hope this helps any more questions please ask me anytime!!!

Oh by the way all the ones that are saying: HI (blah blah blah) I am a loaner. PLEASE IGNORE
They are people that will get your world turned up side down.
I tried talking to one of them and they never responded. Some people say they ask for a certain amount of money too.

The kind of loan that you're looking for is not really a student loan. If you're just looking for a few hundred bucks to tide you over, you're really looking for a personal loan. If you have a relationship with a particular bank, you should approach them for this type of loan.

If you apply to a lender as a "stranger", you're going to need to satisfy the bank's lending criteria. If you have a good income, and you have assets, and you have established an active and responsible credit history, then you may be approved for the loan. On the other hand, if you're the typical 17 or 18-year old, and you haven't really worked much, or established credit, then you're going to have a very difficult time finding a lender.

Lenders don't lend to be helpful - and they're not all that impressed that you're in college. Either you can demonstrate the present ability to repay the loan, or they're not going to lend to you.

You may be relying on your understanding of the "old days" in student loans - a time when many students applied for "extra" money - whether to cover their living expenses, or more frequently, in order to be able to afford schools that they otherwise couldn't afford.

Those days are over - there are now just a handful of student lenders, and they are all very conservative in their lending practices. I would guess that about 98% of all applicants are being asked to provide a cosigner. You're not going to be able to just fill out an application, and then sit back and wait for your money to arrive.

I wish the news was better for you - as I said - your best bet would be with a bank where you are already a customer.

Good luck!

Need Student Loan Help?

We Answered:

Nope. You have to spend it on tuition and then you get to keep whatever is left over. It has to go through the school first though.

Leah Said:

I don't have the best credit, but I really need a student loan?

We Answered:

You can get federal student loans. Did you apply for the fafsa? Everyone qualifies for federal student loans. Any legitimate private student loan is going to focus on your credit score - that's what lenders do to see if you have been responsible in the past and if they believe you'll continue to be responsible. Your dad can apply for a parent-plus loan (if he's denied, then you'll qualify for the 'independent student' amound in stafford loans). You can get a cosigner for a private loan, you can get scholarships, or you can work your way through college. These are your payment options.
