How to pay off the interest on my student loan?

We Answered:

NSLDS should be able to tell you who the servicer is. Sometimes this is the same as the lender, but most times lenders will sell the loan to a company to handle repayment - that is called the servicer. They would be the ones to make any payments to. How long ago did you apply for the loan? Sometimes it takes time to get the loans transferred from the lender to the servicer, so you might not be able to make payments right away, but it shouldn't take very long.

I would go back to NSLDS and find out who the servicer is - if you click on the name, it should give you a phone number to call for more information.

Hope this helps!
