Need Student Loan

Kenneth Said:

I have recieved a federal student loan, but I need another loan to cover living expences.?

We Answered:

If you live like a Professional when you are in college, you'll live like a college student when you graduate. You should reconsider how much you'll need to live off of for a year. Private student loans are evil and should be avoided at all costs. Ever hear of those students racking up 120K to earn their bachelor's degree? And are now are qualified to be a kindergarten teacher and can't afford those 1,500 a month loan payments?

They did this doing exactly what you are thinking of doing now. Never borrow more for your entire college career MORE than what you would expect to earn your first year out of college with that degree.

For Example:
If you are going to school to be a teacher and starting pay for these in your area is 24K, then don't borrow more than this (this is all 4 years totaled) or you won't be able to afford the loan payments when you graduate and will have to move back in with the folks to afford them.
Hope that helps.

Franklin Said:

Need a student loan, should I keep applying after I have been turned down?

We Answered:

these may help.... apply to as many as you can, and the extra funds will go towards your balance (and amount unused, is sent to you). i'll also put links down for childs support also, just in case you need them.
---------------------
There are government loans & grants, and then there are private loans & scholarships.

try to aim for grants/scholarships more... they are not to be paid back. its confusing sometimes, but just keep applying. Scholarships usually have a 1 or 2 page application, and require an essay. Take your time with the essay, so yours stands out.

every big (and small) company you see (manufacturer, orgs, corps and groups also) all have grants and scholarships they hand out like candy. Walmart, Kmart, Target, Coke, computer companies etc etc etc

here are some links with a HUGE list of what is available. some you will need to copy and paste into a new window. also, fastweb (take the time to fill it in) will search databases and get back to you with a list of scholarships you qualify for.

Also contact all mens, womens associations in your state, they almost always have grants & scholarships. What ever field you are going into, contact the orgs, associations etc for them; Also check with professional organizations related to your career interests, such as the American Bar Association or the American Medical Association. they also always have scholarships. Research and dig, call then write. Its all worth it.

OVER apply; it doesnt hurt to have too many, and the extra funds can help with housing.

Megan Said:

Where can i get a student loan to pay off my current debt- and i wouldnt need to pay back untill im done?

We Answered:

Most of the private student loans available these days must be school certified. Which means the check is sent to your school and your school has to approve the amount. If your school has very lenient rules about approving private student loans then giving you the check (after tuition is paid in full) then it's possible, but to be honest, schools are pretty strict these days about what all loans are used for. Good luck.

Alma Said:

I need a student loan, where should I get it? And whats the best company?

We Answered:

Hi! It sounds like what you need most right now is information. The first place to start looking for money for your college education is scholarships and grants, because you don’t have to pay those back. Here’s some basic information:
http://www.tuitionbids.com/student-loan-…
You also need to fill out the FAFSA, which determines whether or not you qualify for federal financial aid (federal grants and loan packages). The FAFSA will send back a Student Aid Report (SAR) which gets sent to your school of choice. Ultimately, it’s up to the school to fulfill your determined needs. How they determine what kind of package, if any, to give you is based on your EFC number (expected family contribution) on the SAR. To qualify for federal Pell grants, your EFC has to be around 4000 and under (I can’t remember the exact cutoff, but I’m sure you can find it on the FAFSA website). More detailed information on federal loans:
http://www.tuitionbids.com/student-loan-…

After that, you can use a Gap Calculator to determine if you have unmet need – it subtracts your aid package from your school’s costs
http://www.tuitionbids.com/student-loan-…
If you do have unmet need, you can apply for a private loan. The company I represent, http://www.tuitionbids.com, lets you fill out one loan application (you’ll need a cosigner) that gets reviewed by up to six different lenders, who bid for your business. It’s an efficient way to hit up many sources at once. You’re definitely not at that stage in the game yet, but it’s just something to keep in mind when the time comes. For now, you should check out some information on loans in general, which will help you determine what terms are best for you:
http://www.tuitionbids.com/student-loan-…

Hope all this helps! It sounds like a daunting process, but you’ll get through it.

Lance Said:

I need a student loan, it's my first time getting a student loan. How do i go about doing that?

We Answered:

get a stafford loan its a government loan and the govt pays the interest on it til after you graduate and you dont have to pay them til 6 mos after you finish school. the amount of the loans determines on how many credits you have
