I have heard of Astrive too, but not familiar with them. Sallie Mae college loans have been good to my friends who are or were attending private colleges. You may want to check that out.

Edit: I just caught your additional info. Sallie Mae loans are private loans whether you are public or private student. A lot of people have said good things about them. Which state will you be in to attend college? Certain states offer Student Educational Loan Funds (SELF loans)- I am in Minnesota and that is what I use.
