You won't have to pay anything until you earn 15,000. Next year, if you did take out a student loan, the % of interest is 0% ie no interest.

You can get a student loan for the length of your course + 1 extra year.
If you do your HND, that's 2 years. If you go onto a degree course after that, assuming you go into year 2 of the 3year course, you will get full support ie loans, tuition loan + grants. Even if you start year 1 for degree after your HND you would still get a maintenance loan. The grants depend on household income.

Also when you contact them, also ask them for any other information about funding because they will definitely be able to point you in the right direction

Because in the UK Parliament Scottish MPs are allowed to vote on legislation that affects the whole of the UK and when the subject of student loans being subsidised came up it was voted against. However in the Scottish Parliament only Scottish MPs can vote and the same subject came up for Scotland and it was voted in favour.

They are treated as International Students in the same way as Spanish or French, but not like American, basically your treated as an EU citizen.

There is a registration fee payment at the begining of each year, this pays for exams and student services, its about €700 i think. Tuition is free for any EU citizen.

I'm not sure about UK student loans, in Ireland there is a grant system operated by local authorities or Local education boards.

I know it's ridiculous, it also means that people from all over the EU get to study for free in Scotland, but if your from England you have to pay!

This is the result of Wales and Scotland getting their own Parliament, meaning they chose to vote for the abolition/reduction of university fees for their own residents. However England has no separate Parliament, so when the idea of the abolition of fees in England was voted on all of the Scottish and Welsh MPs blocked it, because it's too expensive to the English to have free education, but not for the members of their own countries!
