Student Loans After Bankruptcy

We Answered:

universities.atwebpages.com - it has detailed info how to apply for financial aid and scholarships to get more cash.

Clinton Said:

If I file bankruptcy (not to include student loans) is it likely that I can get *private* student loans later?

We Answered:

Call and ask financial aid, I had no problem with getting government student loans, but a couple of years had gone by and this has been 9 yrs. ago. Unless your in serious debt, I would consider other options, there are also some new repayment options for your student loans as of July 1. 2009. Whatever you do, do not default your student loans. Of course bankruptcies will not do away with government student loans or IRS debt.

Judy Said:

Is it possible to get a student loan after bankruptcy?

We Answered:

Yes...under certain circumstances. You may not be eligible if the bankruptcy is not yet resolved, and you may not be eligible if you have previous student loans that you defaulted on and caused your bankruptcy. The only way to know for sure is to apply for them and see what happens.

Alvin Said:

How can I get a student loan after I declared bankruptcy?

We Answered:

You might check out the site that I've listed.

Go to the student loan forum and do some reading. You might be able to get some ideas on what to do.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, post your question. Someone may be able to give you some suggestions.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. I go to the creditboards forums every day, for credit related reading/learning. But I usually go to other forums than the student loan forum.

Jared Said:

Are you still eligible for student loans after bankruptcy?

We Answered:

You can even get approved if you have a bankruptcy record on your credit history. I had a bad credit when I was a college student and I was still able to obtain the college loan.

When you are trying to apply for fast student loans and bad credit history is the problem that prevents you from being approved, you will need to start from identifying the loans that you have a chance of getting.

You will need to look for bad credit loans specifically. You can start from applying for a bad credit student personal loan from regular banks and other financing institutions. You can also consider applying for a settlement loan or a consolidate debt loan.

Your goal is to determine if you can get approved, make sure that you can make a payment each month to service the debt and submit a loan online application.

Another type of loan you should consider when you are applying for student loans with bad credit history is one of your problems is the fast alternative student loan for bad credit cases.

One example of this type of loan would be the fast private loan for a student with bad credit that should be available in your state (California private fast loan, for example). Here you will apply for a loan with private financing organizations instead of the local banks.

For grants look at government loans.
