Student Loans For College

Eduardo Said:

How do I get student loans for college?

We Answered:

First of all fill out the FAFSA, it is a summary of your and your parents 2009 tax returns. This is the application for grants, loans, and work-study. Do this right away as the priority deadline has passed. It does not cost anything, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Any one have any experience with getting personal loan for college, after student loans have run out?

We Answered:

It's virtually impossible to get a personal private loan if you have bad credit, no credit, or don't have a cosigner with good credit.

However, you do have the opportunity to apply for government grants and scholarships, which are free sources of money that you don't have to pay back. You can read about them here:

Here are some sites you can check out that offer grants and scholarships:

Student College Loans Debt...How much do you all have in debt for college reasons, include credit cards, cars.

We Answered:

When i graduated college, I had $22,000 in student loans.

Right now, for the first time in 7 years, im debt free.

I paid off my student loans, credit card and car loan all in the same month last year.

It was like getting the biggest raise anyone ever got.

Or maybe like a Congressmen's raise........lol

But it won't last long, i'll be buying another car sometime this year.

Jack Said:

When will I have to pay back my college student loans?

We Answered:

As long as you're still a full-time student, you won't need to pay back your loans yet, even with the initial estimated completion date.

Your loans should get automatic updates about your student status from your school, but to be sure, you should check the status of your loans in about August 2010 to make sure that it still says that you're a full-time student. If it doesn't say that, then you need to gather registration proof from your school and get in touch with the loan company. Either way, you'd have a six month grace period after graduation to start repayments, so even if they initially think you graduated, you'll have some time to sort out the problem.
