Where To Get Student Loans
Gordon Said:
Where does a grad student who wants to study in Canada go for student loans? We Answered:
It is nearly impossible to obtain student loans for study abroad. You aren't eligible to borrow in Canada if you go to school there, and in the US, you would be going overseas, therefore ineligible for most types of student loans. Your parents, however, might be able to obtain parent loans.Remember, you have to prove you have sufficient funds for all of your school expenses, plus all of your living expenses, plus transportation back to your own country. If you are relying on loans for school + living expenses, and have no real funds of your own, you are going to have a great deal of difficulty getting a student visa.
You and your parents really need to come up with a better method of paying for grad school, or forget studying overseas. You probably could not borrow enough in the US for school + living expenses staying in the US. It's just too much money to borrow, and banks are not keen on lending these days. Student loans funds are low and demand is up, too.

What is the best way to go about finding the safest and best rates to consolidate my student loans? We Answered:
Hi,Act now. Contact your lender and provide details of each student loan you want to consolidate. The terms you get are based on when you apply for a consolidation loan, not the date it’s granted. A new consolidation loan will be opened in your name for the exact amount you owe. The new loan's proceeds are then used to pay off each of your existing loans.
The new consolidated loan features a fixed interest rate calculated as the weighted average of the rates of the loans consolidated, adjusted up to the nearest 1/8 percent and not to exceed 8.25 percent.
You'll start repaying on a consolidation loan within 60 days, unless you qualify to postpone repaying the loan. Most federal loan programs allow students to defer their loans while they're in school at least half time.
A student is eligible for a lower in-school rate while in college or within a six-month window after graduation. Thanks to the Deficit Reduction Act, after June 30th all in-school consolidations are eliminated. The only time you’ll be able to consolidate your college loans will be after you graduate.

Good luck!

Where and how to get student loans? We Answered:
websites like petersons.com are good as well as educationplanner.org as both explain financial aid well.Basically, when you fill out the FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) to get financial aid you are applying for a student loan as there is a question on the form do you want a student loan? You check yes and the form becomes a loan application.
Then your college/trade school uses the FAFSA to process you for federal aid including a loan and will notify you of your ability. You will have to sign a promissory note to get the loan.
As for the laptop, if it is part of your needed schooling expenses the school will put the costs in a budget but that is something you need to review with a school.

Where can I get student loans? We Answered:
There are two sources for student loans -- the federal government and private lenders. In order to obtain most federal student loans, you will first need to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). In most<!--instances the FAFSA is required for all federal financial aid including federal student loans. Deferment options are available while you are still attending school at least half-time. There are four main federal loan programs.http://best-loans.awardspace.com/student-loans.htm
Federal loan consolidation is for students who are in repayment status or parents who wish to extend the repayment period on their current PLUS and obtain a fixed interest rate for the life of the loan-->you can combine all of your eligible federal student loans into one loan with a Federal Consolidation Loan. Consolidating also locks the interest rate you pay on your loan.
