Continue to improve your marks up from the 2.9. Consider, even just for a moment, the possibility of a Community College to start to get your core classes at a lower cost, and then transfer in as a sophomore or junior.

Well, First off do not beat yourself down for anything because what you choose to do in life is what you want. Parents like your mom are only mad because they are blinded by their own desire to see you succeed in life then to see you live by to day by day survival. Let time flow by and if the situation doesn't lift then i would recommend that you sit down and talk with you mother. Physically go to her house and just have a talk and tell her how you feel and why you chose to do this and if she chooses not to accept that its not your fault if she loves you she will accept for who you are. For your step dad talk to him as well she what about you is bugging him. Why is treating you this way? you know try to express and let him know what hes doing to you is making you feel. well, if it is for a teaching job, then winning music awards, or going on a mission trip would not qualify anyway. The other stuff would qualify, but you are usually only supposed to put stuff on your resume that is recent, say in the past couple of years. When you put old information it makes you look like you are fishing for experiences and will make you look worse than if you put more recent stuff that may not be as good. No person hiring you will want to know what you did years ago, they will want to know what you have done recently to make you a good candidate.

Time spent in leadership oriented training is NEVER a waste. We in the military invented leadership! As for the marines; if you don't fall for the bluster of thinking you're all that because of the commercials, enjoy.
